Our kitchen is headed up by head chef James Ash, formally of Hotel du Vin and Malmaison hotels. James joined as head chef in April 2015 and since then has enjoyed writing seasonal menus and working with local suppliers.
The bar and bistro have been carefully revamped with original stripped wooden floors, an array of bespoke furniture, old maps and artwork of the local area.
The picture postcard views are from every window and draw your attention to the magnificent views. Looking North, the sweeping beaches lead the eye towards Bamburgh castle and Holy Island on the horizon, whilst the busy harbour is just 200 yards along the road, with boat trips out to the Farnes, departing several times daily.
The bistro offers an insight into the local produce that can be found in Northumberland. Due to their passion for food and wine, Rob & Tegan are using the best of the regions producers to support a menu of simple honest food. The famous R.Carter & Sons of Bamburgh butcher features prominently on the breakfast and bistro menus, with home cured bacon, black pudding and ‘Bamburgh Bangers’ for breakfast. Whilst one of the signature dishes on the Bistro menu is a slow cooked Northumbrian beef, with red wine, smoked bacon, garlic & thyme. Due to this approach the menu is changed every 2 months in keeping with the changing produce available form the region and specials are used to compliment the menu.
